Summerfest sent out their mass email to any aspiring band that would like to play on the side stages for 2008. Summerfest Milwaukee supports the local music scene by allowing smaller, but popular acts to play. Some say that Summerfest has changed. In the past, you would see much bigger name acts on the stages well before the headliners would wrap up the evening. Time changes everything. Those that complain about the line up should think back to a time when the Summerfest grounds were crap city. I remember winter snow fences, oil drum trash barrels, exposed stages, and a noisy midway that didn't make the Summerfest experience any better. It's a trade off. Do you want a really nice place to spend the day, or do you want to see talent in a more crude venue? I think that there is no turning back for the Big Gig.
