Flight of the Conchords

Coming to the Pabst Theater is one of my favorite "shows." Flight of the Conchords, from HBO.

Jemaine and Bret from New Zealand are the sole members of the band named Flight of the Conchords. They struggle to find fame in New York City. Their songs are clever, hilarious, and topical. They land at the Pabst Theater on May 11th. Cheer on Jemaine and Bret as they bring the Kiwi sounds to Milwaukee.

The Police in Milwaukee at Marcus Amphitheater

July 25th The Police will perform at The Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee. The face value is pretty high for the good tickets. I don't know if would spend $200 per ticket just to see The Police. Granted, the venue is perfect. The night should be warm, and the Marcus Amp. has a cover, but $200 each?

Binky Tunny at Points East Pub November 17th

Usually I comment on national bands coming through Milwaukee. This time, I have to mention that Binky Tunny is finally playing a venue that doesn't involve strippers. In fact, I think Heartbreakers stopped booking bands for good. Binky Tunny, Crumpler, and a few other bands hit the Points East Pub stage starting at 10pm on November 17th. Support local music and come on down. I'm bringing a friend from Germany to see the show. She's dying to get out and leave the 2 year old with a sitter.

Daughtry........yawn....ZZZZZZ

Rounding out the Summerfest Marcus line-up is Daughtry. Sadly, I expected someone better. I'm not Smiling Mr. Smiley. For the record, I have never seen an episode of American Idol. I had to ask where Daughtry placed in that "competition." He didn't win. The Summerfest fans didn't win either. Is that all there is? Is that all there is? Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friends, Then let's keep dancing. Let's break out the booze And have a ball ... - Peggy Lee

Fall Out Boy May 17th, Milwaukee

"Dance Dance" to Fall Out Boy May 17th at The Bradley Center. My co-worker has a 10 year old son that really likes this band. Their latest cd has had strong sales. These Chicago boys are making the best of a good situation and riding the wave of success. A quick check of the TM website shows that Fall Out Boy sold Bradley Center reserved tickets all the way back to the corners of the lower level. I wonder what it is like to play in such a big venue like the Bradley Center?
