Wicked at Marcus Center for the Performing Arts

Wicked is coming to Milwaukee. I remember the Marcus Center for the Performing arts from my grade school days. That's where we would go for "Kinder Concerts." It was a great way to blow off half the school day. We took the city bus, sat in the orchestra level, and had a great time learning to appreciate classical music. My wife and I saw Monty Python's Spamalot at the Marcus Center last year. It was one of those times where you asked yourself "do I dress up, or just go casual." It was a comedy, but we dressed up anyway. Good thing, there were people in suits and dresses at the performance.

Wicked tickets for the Marcus Center will most likely sell out fast. Wicked the musical won a Tony, and continues to do well at the box office, no matter what city.

Spamalot

For those of you that missed the Milwaukee shows, it was a great performance! When I was a kid, I used to watch Monty Python on PBS. We had a crappy black and white TV in our kitchen, and that's where you would find me. We had their album too. The touring company of Spamalot was top notch. Gary Beach played King Arthur on this run, and that really made me happy. He was great. Although I have seen every Monty Python episode, and every movie, I still found myself enjoying the show. When touring companies come to Milwaukee, you can expect the "C" cast. Not so on this occasion. I have seen many theatrical shows here in Milwaukee. Spamalot ranks in my top two of all time. The next thing I want to do is buy some Milwaukee Theater tickets and go see something like Blue Man Group, if they ever come back.
