Dust in the wind and Kansas brings 38

Just announced: Kansas comes to the Pabst Theater with a huge orchestra. I'll guess the demographic on that one is 45+, white, and living the 70's. Speaking of 45+ and white, Bon Jovi just announced a Bradley Center date. February 21st Bon Jovi rolls into Milwaukee. Bon Jovi could play here every month and still not satiate the thirst of their devoted female fans. I'm going to go forward in time. It's 8 degrees outside, and the ladies are lining up to see that short guy sing hits from nearly three decades back.

Summerfest 2007 Headliners

What Summerfest Marcus Amphitheater acts will you go see, and do you have your tickets yet? Will it be the teen-age girl attracting John Mayer, will it be Ludacris, will it be the old farts known as Styx, and the ever annoying Foreigner? For me, it would have to be Roger Waters, or Tool. Panic at the Disco is a total pass, no interest in that one at all. Perhaps my 15-year-old nephew would like that show. Toby Keith, the war whore is out. Bon Jovi is not my style, but that band has the dedicated fan base that will buy tickets. Any musician would love to have that many fans. The Fray with OK Go, is a lightweight in my opinion. Steely Dan would be one of those shows that would be ok if it were on a side stage, and the sun were still up and you had a huge pile of food in front of you. That would be a good warm-up show for the band you really want to see that night. I'll comment on the side-stages once they are fully booked.

WMM out.

Bon Jovi at Summerfest

A favorite for those who grew up in the 80's (see picture at right) is Bon Jovi. Now that those fans are nearing their late 30's and early 40's it's safe to say that Bon Jovi is reaching "oldies" status. No matter what they produce currently, I'm afraid that they aren't drawing new fans to their style. If that were the case, we would see their videos on MTV as opposed to VH1. (Example: Have A Nice Day Video) July 5th will be the date of Bon Jovi. I pray for cool weather since there will still be a few hairdos at The Marcus Amphitheater that require low humidity.
