Bruce Springsteen Milwaukee tickets hard to find

I should not be surprised to find that the Bruce Springsteen Milwaukee tickets are hard to find. The Boss made the entire floor of the BC general admission. Some of his fans, the older ones, don't want to stand all night long. They opted for the reserved seats. That made the floor tickets easy to find for the first month or so. Then all heck broke loose.
Perhaps the announcement that the band was going to play the entire Born To Run album changed the demand? All I know is that Bruce can still sell out an 18,000 capacity Bradley Center. It just took time. Could this be the last tour for Bruce? I doubt it.

Sleeper show and AC/DC crawls up from the dirt

One would think that after all the years, all the albums, and the Napster debacle, Metallica would have called it quits. Apparently the opposite holds true for Milwaukee fans. The show is sold out in the lower level, and people are still looking for good Bradley Center tickets for that show.

AC/DC came out with their album this week. It hit the charts at number one in thirty countries. Walmart reported sales topping 750,000 in the first week that Black Ice filled the store shelves. This is album number 15 for the old men of rock and roll. It beat out High School Musical 3 in sales. That makes this music fan very happy. Spin Magazine gives this one two devil horns up. Other reviews compliment the production. Musicradar.com calls this one a "Rock and Roll masterpiece."

Other words that I hear on the street is that this cd came out at just the right time. I guess that waiting eight years works for this aged group of legends. It works for me.

Even though this album was leaked out prior to release, it still blew through the charts, and that is just another testament to the quality of the songs. Some reviews have pointed out that there are three songs with the words "rock and roll" in the title. So what? That's what this band is all about.

Metallica, I want 2.5 hours of my life back.

As I write this, I’m listening to Devo. Auto Modown to be exact. This is classic house cleaning music. Even though I’m listening to classic New Wave, my thoughts are all about the DVD I saw last night. It was Metallica’s Some Kind Of Monster. It took the band over seven hundred days to make the album St. Anger, and the cameras rolled through the entire torturous, tedious event.

My wife left the room at day 388. About that time, I started to wonder if the stupid album would ever be finished. As a musician, I cannot fathom taking that much time, spending that much money, and swinging around all that baggage in front of a camera crew. James left for rehab in the middle of making the album. He came back a year later, and when he did, there were new rules. The band could only "create" from noon to four pm. Nobody was to listen to tracks after he left for the day.

The forty-thousand dollar per month performance enhancement therapist got so involved in the band that he didn’t want to leave after the band decided to give this guy the boot. In my opinion, he crossed the patient-doctor boundary.

Who wouldn’t want to live the rock and roll life vicariously though one of the biggest metal bands to ever grace the stage? After all, he was pulling in nearly half a million dollars a year to coddle these worn out buggers.

Highlights of the DVD would include the art auction Lars so bravely put himself through.
Poor guy had to rake in millions for his paintings. Most of it resembled cookie cutter college art, or mock ups of worn out themes from previous decades. None the less, he got drunk to numb the pain of watching his bank account grow even bigger. He justified the auction by stating that “others park their money in the bank, I put it on the wall.” Whatever makes you feel better in front of the cameras Lars.

Another intensely annoying aspect of this marathon of a documentary was having to listen to Lars’ snare drum. As a drummer, I couldn’t help myself. His snare sounded like the pinging of a 1950’s submarine radar that you hear in those old B-movies. Ping, Ping, Ping, make it stop!! Apparently nobody had the guts to tell Lars that his Tama Signature snare sounded like complete garbage. Thank the earth for Pro Tools. That was the only thing saving that horrid snare tuning.

As I mentioned, James took some time to dry out, and that’s a fine thing to do. He came out of rehab with all the tools that one would expect. He blamed his callous manner on abandonment issues. He found his old life of being smashed most of the time to be boring. Good point. Anything can get old after a while. It was still hard to watch him cast away Jason without a thought, and then never ask him back when sober.

Ok, back to highlights. I loved the scene where the therapist handed James lyrics on a post it note. This old fart (my opinion) decided it was perfectly acceptable to join in the task of writing for Metallica. I loved it when Lars’ dad rejected some of the songs with honestly. I loved the bass player auditions.

Lastly, I’m still blown away at how these guys don’t seem grateful after all the years. They have millions upon millions of dollars, and they want for nothing. They do the typical “get away from it all” crap on their ranches, or their land, or while driving in their monster hot rods, or on jet skis. Get over yourselves guys and just make a freaking album! Other bands would have made four or five albums in that same time span. I did feel a bit robbed at the end of the DVD. I wanted 2.5 hours of my life back.

Metallica to play at the Bradley Center

Staying power. That's what Metallica has. Respect. That's what you get when you tell a Metal-Head that you like Metallica. They are a cornerstone band that continues to impress the fans. On January 12th, the stallwarts come to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. This show is in the round. I wonder if the stage will slowly spin counter-clockwise throughout the night.

My buddy had a Ride The Lightning key chain. He blasted Master Of Puppets on his car stereo as we cruised the north woods of Wisconsin.

I can't say that I love the later works, but that does not diminish the quality music that the band put out in the early years. They didn't switch to disco. They didn't write music for a Broadway play. They stayed in the genre that made them famous.

As for line-up changes, yes a few came and went, but the band didn't lose it all with the transitions.

Another friend suggested that I rent the movie Some Kind Of Monster. I received the disk via NetFlix, only to find that I rented the "bonus" disk. Argh! I sent it back, and I'm ready to view the real DVD this week. It will get me fired up to buy the Bradley Center tickets for when they come to Milwaukee in January.

Bradley Center presents "New" Kids on the block

The New Kids On The Block will be performing at the Bradley Center on October 22nd. It all started in 1984, as the casting call went out for talented young men. Maurice Starr acquired Jordan, Jonathan, Joey, Danny, and Donny. Well established boy groups had come along years ahead of New Kids On The Block. This assembly was to tap into the spending power of a new generation of preteen girls.

After a few more casting calls, the group was finally formed. Their first album tanked. Their second album nearly tanked, but leave it to Florida to proclaim their love of bubble gum pop. The fans requested their songs in high numbers, and they had a hit. That was followed up by many more hits. They went on to sell millions upon millions of records.

The "Kids" are in their 40's now. I'll bet the Bradley Center Tickets for this show will mostly sell to their 40's fans. This is a reunion tour.

The Buble Center or Bradley Center?

The Bradley Center was tossing around the idea of selling the naming rights in hopes of generating revenue. Word is that the Bradley Center is already too aged to be able to bring in revenue that will help keep the Bucks competitive. The way that the fans bought Bradley Center tickets to see Michael Buble last night, you could ask him to pony up the cash. We could call it the Buble Dome, or the Buble Center, or perhaps the Buble Megaplex. The review of his show was good. He has the range to hit the notes of the top Motown songs, and can manage to pull of the old standards that Sinatra made famous. I like the name Bradley Center. I don't think it's going to change in the near future.

Bruce Springsteen and his fickle fans

After hearing word that "The Boss" will headline the Harley Davidson 105th reunion, Bruce Springsteen's fans rushed to dump their March Bradley Center show tickets for the warmer and possibly more enjoyable Summer show. Bruce Springsteen fans are a loyal, albeit an aging base. His March show at The Bradley Center had strong ticket sales from what I heard. But given the choice of seeing "The Boss" out in the open, and under the warm summer night's sky, with 100,000 other fans, the dumping ensued. It didn't matter much that the Harley show requires membership of H.O.G. itself to acquire a code to purchase a ticket. Fans seem to be jumping through that hoop with ease.

New Van Halen Date is set for Bradley Center and Bruce Springsteen plays Milwaukee

The new Van Halen date for the Wisconsin Bradley Center tickets you have in hand is April 28th. So the bump over to the new date wasn't too bad, was it? Bruce Springsteen played at The Bradley Center last Monday night, and I heard that there was no big screen above the stage. That is surprising, because The Bradley Center is a very large venue. The Springsteen review for Milwaukee spoke more about the aging of the band, over the quality of the music. Bruce is pushing 60 years old. They can't all be Mick Jagger in their energy. Springsteen's latest disk is more about preaching. What energy to you put into a sermon? I'm still going to get an upper level ticket for Van Halen, just to watch the spectacle.

Van Halen tour dates revised

From Mercury News - "A posting at www.van-halen.com, the band's official Web site, says the band is calling off shows so the guitarist "can continue medical tests to define a course of treatment." It also states that "rescheduled dates will be announced shortly." No, it's not about the partying, it's about being healthy. Van Halen wants to be out on the road, in front of their fans. They just need to give Eddie some time to heal. The Bradley Center will be shaking soon enough. Give Van Halen time and they will come to Milwaukee.

Van Halen in the spring

I'm still waiting for the spring to come to Milwaukee. Perhaps when it finally does warm up, we won't even remember how crappy this winter was. I suppose that by the time Van Halen comes to the Bradley Center, the snow will be long gone. I will be sitting in the upper level for that show. I have to see Van Halen one time in my life. Especially since I never liked Sammy. David Lee Roth is the man. It's not that Van Halen Tickets were hard to come by. I just want to sit in the upper level to watch the entire scene. It's going to be better than watching the Milwaukee Bucks
play another sloppy game. Put that Bradley Center to good use.

Bruce Springsteen and the HOG

Do you have your Bruce Springsteen tickets yet? He comes to The Bradley Center on March 17th. If you miss that show, he returns to Milwaukee for the HOG and Harley Davidson reunion in August. Coming off of the worst line up for a Harley event, the Harley reuinion folks hit it out of the park for this coming reunion. Some great bands will be on the Summerfest grounds. But the big show will be Bruce in the park.

Jonas Brothers announce a second tour

The Jonas Brothers played the Rave a few weeks back. Banking on their popularity, Disney has set up a larger tour. My guess for a Milwaukee show would be at The Bradley Center. Hannah Montana's show sold out very quickly, but I think that The Jonas Brothers will have trouble selling out that venue.

WWVHD What Would Van Halen Do?

Van Halen's last tour stop is Milwaukee Wisconsin. Their tour wraps up on April 7th at The Bradley Center. Now, does the band pull out all the stops for their last show? Does Van Halen tick off the days on the tour calendar, look at Milwaukee, and think screw it, I'm done. This all comes about because the Van Halen tour was extended. I suspect that the band had planned to extend this tour based on ticket sales. Sales were good, so the band added dates, and Milwaukee was one of them. If you have nothing left to give, why not leave everything on the Bradley Center stage. I'm going to get an upper level ticket and watch the spectacle.

Goo Goo dolls on ice

January 5th, The Goo Goo Dolls play before the Milwaukee Admirals game. This is a get-butts-in-the-seats promotion that the Bradley Center does at regular intervals. I think it works well. The Goo Goo dolls will be playing in front of kids that have never seen them before. The Bradley Center sets up a stage on one end most times, but since this show is before the game, one can wonder if they will set up the stage on center ice? Considering the way that The Milwaukee Bucks are playing, the Dolls could stick around for that game too?

Hannah Montana, is that a real person?

It's one of those shows where I feel obligated to post. Hannah Montana will be at the Bradley Center on January 13th. Her CD is a whopping $16.90. The face value of the show is reasonable. The Bradley Center held 1000 tickets aside for fans. Thank goodness for the Jackie Coogan law. Otherwise, Miley's cash might be burned up before she turns 18. That is if Disney corp. actually pays her a fair wage for this dreck.

Billy Joel at The Bradley Center

Piano Man Billy Joel comes to The Bradley Center on March 2nd, 2008. This makes the third baby boomer show for The Bradley Center in 2008. Billy Joel fancies himself a "Rock" musician. That's a stretch. He's a pop singer. Sorry Billy, you have a string of hits longer than Wisconsin Avenue, but they are all pop songs, or piano ballads. My wife saw Billy Joel at the Marcus Amphitheater a very long time ago. She went because her friend begged her. That friend drank too much at the show. At the end of the night, that friend walked face first into a bus door. It was not good. Back to BJ. He has an angry look about him when he sings. I wonder if he smiles when he's at home. Will BJ sell out? I think so.

Van Halen coming to Milwaukee in April 2008

Van Halen, is coming to the Bradley Center on April 7th, 2008. You could see that they were booking tour dates to extend this current foray. I think that this show will be good for them. Some dates on their current tour weren't spectacular as far as ticket sales. Milwaukee is an old-fashioned rock and roll town. I'll bet it's close to a sell out show for Van Halen. I know that they could sell enough Milwaukee Theater tickets, but they play in the cavernous BC. I haven't looked at any grainy, shaky camera, cell phone video's on Youtube, featuring the aged Van Halen. I would rather see them live, and make my judgements afterword. This great photo came courtesy of Anandamide, the blog.

Who would you like to see at...

Do celebrities draw too much attention when they show up at a show? I guess that it depends on the show, the size of the venue, such as a Bradley Center or Rave and how much of a distraction that person may be. I would certainly be distracted if a pro athlete showed up. Consider first their size. Many of them are tall and huge. They might stick out. Say for example, what if Donald Driver of The Green Bay Packers showed up at Points East last Saturday night. He'd be the biggest guy in the club. How does a band compete with that? That's why I'm all for the celebrity zone at a club. They get to relax, and the distractions are few.

Celine Dion

She's coming to Milwaukee September 29th and the Bradley Center tickets are moving fast .
She's spent a lot of time in Las Vegas, and I can't blame anyone for hitting the road if your home base is that city. There is a long time to wait, plan, and age before she gets here. This show is 10 months away. Celine Dion's shows in Las Vegas brought in lots of cash. She was a top attraction there for sure.

Dust in the wind and Kansas brings 38

Just announced: Kansas comes to the Pabst Theater with a huge orchestra. I'll guess the demographic on that one is 45+, white, and living the 70's. Speaking of 45+ and white, Bon Jovi just announced a Bradley Center date. February 21st Bon Jovi rolls into Milwaukee. Bon Jovi could play here every month and still not satiate the thirst of their devoted female fans. I'm going to go forward in time. It's 8 degrees outside, and the ladies are lining up to see that short guy sing hits from nearly three decades back.
